既香且脆的越南煎蛋餅 Fragrant and Crispy Vietnamese Pan Cake - Bánh xèo (Pho Mai)

去Pho Mai AZ 午餐,是一次美好的經驗。第一,我嚐到有史以來最香脆的越南香煎蛋餅;第二,越南粉端上桌時非常的熱,不但湯料新鮮,連配碟上的青菜和芽菜亦新鮮又整潔。還記得我說過,湯不熱菜不新鮮,就和美味搆不上邊。何況今天我還享受了一個鮮甜無比椰青。

這裹為大家介紹一下我推薦的越南香煎蛋餅。別看它外型薄,裏面的材料卻很豐富,有肉碎(如想換上豬腩肉亦可,包在生菜裹,醮着魚露吃)蝦,綠豆和芽菜。一口咬下去,脆中帶著肉香,口感極佳。如果你去光顧,別忘了這道菜。

Dining at Pho Mai AZ was a pleasant experience. First impression? I had the chance to taste the most fragrant and crispy Vietnamese pan cake in history. Secondly, the of bowl Vietnamese rice noodles (Pho) was absolutely hot and steamy from the get go, the broth itself was loaded with fresh ingredients, the vegetables and bean sprout not only tasted fresh, but also neatly presented and visually stunning. Remember what I always say, if the dish is hot enough or the vegetables are not fresh, you can’t even remotely associate the word delicious with the dish. Did I forget to mention the addition of a sweet and refreshing young coconut that accompanied my meal?


Speaking of the Vietnamese pan cake that I highly recommended. Don’t get fooled from its thinly prepared appearance, they are packed full of ingredients. It comes with minced pork (you may substitute with pork belly if you wish, wrapped inside lettuce and eat it with fish sauce), shrimp, mung beans and bean sprout. From the first bite, the fragrant meat totally immersed inside the ever crispy skin, what lovable texture. If you ever go there, remember to order it!
